Apr 02, 2025 NNMC welcomes new Regents Ron Lovato and Dolores Gurule Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board of Regents members, Ron Lovato and Dolores Gurule, and the reappointment of Vice-Chair Erica Rita Velarde. All three were confirmed by the New Mexico State Senate on February 10, 2024, following a hearing and confirmation by the Senate Rules Committee.
Apr 02, 2025 100 percent of Northern's ADN 2024 Graduates Pass Nursing Licensure Exam For the second year in a row, graduates of the Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program had a 100-percent pass rate of the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) licensure exam on their first try.
Mar 11, 2025 Women's History Month Celebration 2025 Last Thursday’s Women’s History Month celebration and International Women’s Day offered inspiration and recognition for the incredible women at Northern New Mexico College. The event honored several women for their contributions and showcased powerful stories of resilience, mentorship, and achievement.
The event was organized by Tammy Winston from Student Life, Khiana Valencia from CASSC, and Milam Shah from Communications. Together, they also created a Gratitude Wall—a special space where students, faculty, and staff could honor the women who have inspired them.
Nov 21, 2024 Northern Scholarships Application Now Open for Spring 2025 Northern is offering several scholarships for current and prospective students to help cover the cost of a college education. Northern considers a variety of factors in determining scholarship awards including campus and community involvement, major, and personal experiences. Please complete this application no later than Friday, December 20, 2024.
Students selected for any Northern Scholarship will receive the funds in the Spring 2025 semester upon verification of recipients' enrollment at Northern.

Nov 13, 2024 Community Comes Together for Northern’s Continuing Education Classes Northern New Mexico College’s Continuing Education program at the El Rito Campus offers immersive, hands-on courses that connect participants to local heritage and practical skills. Highlights include Tai Chi classes, held in the peaceful campus park, where participants relax and balance body and mind through this ancient Chinese practice. The Horno Construction course taught traditional adobe-building techniques, with students reshaping a horno and celebrating with freshly baked bread. In the Kernel to Tortilla Workshop, participants learned to prepare blue corn dishes, honoring Indigenous food heritage with guidance from Nixta Kitchen....
